Here's the history..

#1 3 ft experiment tank. Tank was shut down in order to upgrade
afbcdn_sphotos_e_a.akamaihd.net_hphotos_ak_ash4_287_49261405500_6717_n.jpg

#2 Converted the 8ft cichlid to a Marine. Most money lost here. Did not use RODI water and collected NSW which wasn't the best combination. Also no chiller, so crashed during summer.
afbcdn_sphotos_h_a.akamaihd.net_hphotos_ak_ash4_307_67774860500_6435_n.jpg

#3 Took a break for about 2 years. We convinced each other to start up a small 45 cm cube after being inspired after setting up a 5 ft marine tank for a customer. This was shutdown to upgrade to a bigger tank

#4 3 x 18 x 18 marine setup. Shut down because we had to move to a smaller house once we got married. Sold it to a newb who proveeded to buy a royal dottiback, puffer fish, mandarin fish, juvinile lionfish, angel fish and a blue tang to an already fully stocked tank. We serviced it once after he'd made all the new additions against our recommendations.

#5 David converted my very first fishtank into a marine tank, complete with skimmer and ripped out the original lighting system to Bridgelux LEDS. Shut down today so we could fit in a new couch into the lounge and moved everything into the aquaOne 60 Panorama,

#6 Set up today with the new lights (1st year anniversary present-wrapped in paper right?)

#7 This is what this TJ's about right? Updates in a couple days when we unwrap and put together the tank..

good little story guys . I had to laugh with the story on the 8ft tank . especially with the Fan in the photo.
I remember trying to put large chunks of ice ( ice-cream box size ) into a 4x2x2 to try and cool it down on hot days ,....it did not help:(

hahahahaha!! Glad we weren't the only ones. Good attempt with icecream sized box of ice though, we used those gel freezer/heat packs that come with the cooler esky's.. They leaked.

Went to reeflections today and picked up some zoas to build up the collection again after the nano crashed in the summer heat wave. Managed to salvage a rock of eagle eyes and one or two polyps of misc ones- fluro orange fringe and a couple green fringe zoas.
Managed to get some nice pink ones, dark blues, greens, red people eaters and another one we hadn't seen before- will take a photo once it opens up, only 2 polyps there. Not sure what types they are. Pics tonight once they open up :D Getting impatient, was secretly hoping they'd open straight away once I put them in the new tank :banghead

The fan was actually to dry the carpet after the top up tap (mains water) was left on and no body watching it... after about the 8th time this happened the ducted heating fan under the floor decided it wanted to short out. No idea why.

Went on a bit of a spending spree this weekend. Bought zoas from Point Cook to Cranbourne...

The camera is charging now so pictures will be added in an hour or so.
Ill also do a sunrise to sunset display to show the light settings. Been looking everywhere for some advice on the light but not too much info around, but more on that later...

Some new toys :)

Don't think it'll fit in the sump so we're only going to use the skimmer and middle trickle filter. Also going to replace bio balls with coral rubble instead.

Anyone tried out this trickle tower before? I read a bit and apparently it is a bit noisy. But that was only with second hand ones, after a clean they seemed to shut up..

Very nice...

Looking good cant wait to see this all in the CADE...

That filter is an interesting piece. Be interested to see how it goes, Maybe put a review up in the reviews section with your experiances?

The filter is basically a aquamedic turbo flotor 1000 with an extra trickle filter attached to it.

its called a aqua medic riff 500

Sounds like it will be a nice setup! Im guessing no 2 crazy polyp is a Reeflections special and no 4 is a vpreef special. Is your Cade the one sitting at Reeflections with sold written on it :)

Keep the updates coming!

I wonder if in that 3rd chamber if you could put chaeto in it with the lights on the outside pointing in from different directions.
The only issue would be the algae build up on the glass but it may be worth a shot
