Observed some initial signs of my yellow Haddoni splitting this evening...observed it for 2 hours, and the split has stretched,out to it mouth, and the mouth area stretching towards the split. Moonlight period ATM, and can't take any descent pics.....

Mmmm, great question, does a split theoretically then count as 2 ? Same mass/volume ?

There's different school of thought of splitting representing healthy v stress...my vote is DEFINITELY on the healthy :-)

Returned home and notice the anemone developed two mouths...


Super excited....was asked to take pics, as there isn't much documentation if haddonis are asexual....Have set up the video to hopefully capture the moment of the split .... zzzzzz, LOL

Perhaps in a blender to create a 1000 frags, then we can start talking return of investment. LOL

Splitting is both caused by great parameters and environmental stresses. Our GBTAs split right after we got them. We started with 7 in a 130D, went to 11, sold 6 then 2 more split. We got that tank for free when it was all said and done with GBTA sales, lol.

After 2-3 days, the anemone stop splitting,moved a couple of inches, and behaved like nothing happened......signs of the attempted split (stretch marks..) still present. There's no literature on the net on Haddoni splitting, so unsure of what to expect.
