Back, Sort Of
I know some have been wonder what happened since last year so here's the scoop.

About 2 months after the accident my leg just stopped healing in its tracks so I went to see a lower extremity specialist and they confirmed that there was a lot more damage than earlier thought. An MRA with contrast showed there was massive localized circulatory damage and it had to be dealt with sooner rather than later to save my lower leg.11 surgeries later I'm on the mend.

If anyone had told me this was going to be as long and drawn out as it has I'd have told them they were out of their minds. Between physical therapy, getting the greenhouse under roof before fall I've had precious little time to do much of anything other than work, doctors and sleep.

I have 3 more surgeries to deal with over the next few months to fix the last of the veins in the area so I'm going to be MIA for a little while longer.

While all of this is going on, the girl I hired to help out with office work for the machine shop decided she was going to try to steal me blind. She started running with some asshole junkie and took money that I had given her to mail off packages and she wrote herself a few cheques and was caught. She's now a resident of our local jail for the next 5 years and when she gets out she will be required to pay back all of the money she stole from me, not holding my breath on that. I found packages that were supposed to be mailed thrown behind a wall, Lesley, yours was one of those packages. That whole ordeal has been a shitshow from beginning to end. This is why I work by myself most of the time, every person I've hired since I started the machine shop in 1993 has been a worthless piece of shit. So now, if I can't do it myself, it's not going to be getting done, PERIOD.

Great to have you back mate. Sorry to hear about the complications with your leg, I hope you end up with a good result after the balance of you surgery. Will you still need physio after that?
Employing (and trusting) people in a small business like that can be a real shit. At least she's doing the time.
Keep us up to date with your progress mate.
Cheers

I appreciate the well wishes mates, but my body has to do it. I'm on several ant clotting agents which preclude me from flying which is really pissing me off.

I also forgot to mention that not long after the last surgery I threw a clot that was caught by an IVF filtre and had to have that dealt with. Nothing like having a large gauge needle stuck in your leg and having your veins vacuum cleaned, lol.

Nah, you lot are OK in my book. Here's a few shots of the tank how it's grown in. I sold a few of the monster pieces today and replaced them with stuff that came in last week.

I'll get sorted out soon, there's light at the end of the tunnel now. If anyone had told me that I would still be dealing with this damn near 18 months later I'd have told you your were nuts.

Now off to celebrate America's BREXIT Day. :D

Surgery #7 was done a week ago, now 2 months until hopefully, the last one gets completed. We'll go to trial in January to sort it all out. Medical bills to this point are near $3,000,000 USD.:dead

More updates on the way. We got rid of the Cadlights 50 cube and picked up an SC Aquariums 50 cube for sticks. With all of the problems with the Cadlights tanks here in the USA I didn't relish the idea of coming home to an exploded tank.

Mate, it sure sounds like a long painful process you're going through. How's the physio going? Will your leg get back to being pretty close to normal?
Cheers

It'll never be normal mate, too much vascular damage that went unnoticed until I bitched to high heaven about it going numb, swelling and changing colour a month after the accident. The doc that's putting me back together said they should have done an MRI that day and I should have been in surgery that night. Then he wouldn't have to go in and repair all of the scar tissue that's in there now.

As for PT, screw that, the doc gives me exercises to do and I do them at home. The PT place is 60km away and I don't feel like driving down there to do it. I have to keep it elevated as much as I can so it doesn't swell and blow out the veins that he just repaired.

It's me against the medical centre that fail to treat properly and the one that dumped the supercharger on me. When it's all said and done a lot of money will change hands. If I hadn't hired an attorney, I could have been liable for the medical bills. Sad state of affairs here with the way our legal system works. The medical centre tried to blame the lack of an MRI on the insurance company. My attorney said, then you should have enquired when it happened to save all this pain and suffering. It's not about trying to get rich for me, it's about doing the right thing and setting precedence so this NEVER happens to anyone else ever again.

There was a little girl that had leukemia and was receiving my blood. For some reason my blood held it at bay for over 2 years. 2 months ago Kimmie lost her battle, on top of everything else I had to deal with I had that. When it's over, my attorney and I decided that we'd take care of her medical bills out of the settlement if it's substantial and split up the rest according to our agreement.

Best of luck with it Rob, you've got a big heart mate and I'm sorry to hear about Kimmie. You're a life saver in the truest sense of the word mate :)
