Big System Update
New entry in my first tank project after 2 months in.
I've received all my new equipment and I've upgraded the full system a week ago:
My old system running (just to acknowledge the big change):
All the new equipment ready:
The Marine Pac 3:
The Auto top up ATU3 from Reefloat:
So then I started to put the system together:
Getting the pump at the bottom of the structure is a bit tricky if you have big hands. The trick to wet the side and slide the pump with a long tool works just fine.
I'm running some Purigen and Seagel as media. I think I will add some proper Phosguard considering my cyano problem.
I've also kept my Marine pure sphere from the previous system.
Neil is running a refugium at the bottom where the pump is and I think I would like to do that once I find out his secret refugium set up.
The Mame Skimmer:
It's the system fully assembled.
Time to get it wet and put it in the tank
I've set the MP10 on the right side of the tank for future SPS if my water gets good. It works well with the flow coming from the MP3, which blows from the left side. The MP10 is set on Reef-Crest lvl 4.
Soon after I've started the system, I got a cloudy water (did a 25% water change too).
Since then I had a diatom bloom + cyano invasion. I'm still working on it.
I've made a quick video of the system running from the top (loud fan noise as the lighting system doesn't have a controller yet to manage the intensity of the lights/fan; soon):
and a second one of the initial corals after the set up finished:
I'll do a post about the corals next with a few additions and relocation
