I've got an ATI 8x24w Sunpower to suspend above my tank. It's probably overkill by two lights but I got it for a good deal second hand. Also it'd suit a possible upgrade to a 3x2x2 in the future.

We're currently renting and unable to use the hanging system to attach it to the ceiling. So what hanging system should I choose? It'd be nice if it was visually inoffensive.

These guys look cheap, and may not hold the large Sunpower unit, especially if it was knocked.

Then there are the Mazarra rails, but they're plastic compared to the silver light unit.

I tried bending some poles as below, but ended up bending the $70 tool instead. Plus with a coast to coast overflow the pole can't come from directly behind the tank, and the steel conduit Americans use for this isn't available in Australia (because we want to avoid electrocuting people).

These look suitable, but I can't actually find them for sale.

Also these could be good but are too small for my light.

Please, I need your help! All suggestions welcome.

i have these two big steal polls that are attached to my frame, they are similar to the bent pole, but i little different. The previous owner of the tank made it for 70. (i got a second hand tank)

CADE light poles are what I would recommend to hang an ATI from

The CADE poles seem like they'd struggle with an external overflow. Is that right?

if it's coast to coast, yeah it would, you'd need to add some sort of block to increase the distance between the back of the tank and the light poles.

You could always mount the cade poles to the side and have them angle in a little :) they're pretty awesome I just installed mine

So I went for the DALUA / Illumagic pendant system, which works perfec with my ATI lights' cable hanging kit. Pretty stoked, and wish I'd bought it a year ago.
