Cooked Calcium Reactor.
Noticed on Friday on frag of Yellow terra had RTN'd.
So I knew something was up.
Decided to look at my reactor effluent flow rate late last night.
Yap as I thought, slowed down a lot over the past year. Time for some new feed pipes to and from the reactor.
Tested alk to find it had shot up to 11.
Switched off reactor to deal with today.
In the process of diluting the reactor and hopefully getting things back to normal today.
Let's see how we go.

Looks like your c02 solenoid may have stuck on? Slowing effluent or water feed line shouldn't cause the media to melt?
Yes you would think so but been balancing kh on this tank without solenoid and ph control-

Time to invest in a ph controller-
Oh and I'll need a solenoid to make the set up work properly.
Blew down the pipe to find a nice blockage that came out.

Kh is 5.4
Added a good tablespoon of buffer to settle the ph and raise the kh.
Juiced up the reactor and throttled back the effluent flow. Let's see what happens.

We'll have to call him the Alkalinity Cowboy haha
yeah a bit heavy handed with the buffer !
Oh and was a dumb ass by turning the CO2 up instead of down but picked that slip up rather quickly when I heard the circulation pump mashing excess bubbles:p
