Dosing Sequence, Gap Time & Your Shooting Level
So let's say that you are doing carbon, Mg, Alk & Ca dosing in your tank.

The questions are:
  1. Which of them can be dosed together (at the same time)?
  2. If they can't be dosed at the same time, what's the separation time?
  3. What level of Mg, Alk & Ca are you shooting for?

I think it depends on your solution for ALK ,
some are designed to lower your PH.
These are best dosed during the day when the lights are on. This is when you PH will be at its highest.
Also ALK and CAL are consumed prominently in the peek of the day when your lights are on.
I wouldn't be over concern about when you dosing CAL & MAG when ever suits IMO.
Split them up over several times a day.

This is my dosing schedule.
Tank volume is 180L, randy's recipe #2 and my lights are on from noon to 10:30pm.

Vinegar is dosed all day long, in small doses to avoid lowering pH. I used to dose during the day, but the impact on pH is null, at such small doses.
Calcium is dose all day long, because it has no impact on pH.
Alkalinity is dosed when lights are off, to help increase pH.

Dosing pump makes sure there is a gap of 4 minutes, between any doses.

I try to stick to 3ml doses, for anything due to the small volume of this tank.

I don't dose as such but the levels I shoot for are:

Ca 380-430 * Alk 8-10 * Mag 1250 - 1350.

The reason I don't dose is that I don't need to. My alk and mag never get low. I sometimes add calcium but then I don't run sps or even a great deal of soft stony corals. The levels I aim for are the typical levels found in Australian tropical waters. I figure nature knows best :)

You do weekly WC, right? ASW or NSW?
