I deliberately made it about double the height that it would require to pack everything in there tightly with no room. That way I had wiggle room on placement and component specifics, so if I miscalculated the height of something it wouldn't affect things too adversely. Also, it lets me assess the design and make changes for future iterations.
It's a prototype. At this point it's function over form. Once I can prove that it works, I can look at crowdfunding upgrades to both design AND functionality.
