put all my gear into a new case :) Fractal Design Arc Midi
Excellent case! plenty of room for my watercooling......

as allways i have to push what i do. going to water cool the gtx580 and cpu. want to see some nice clocks coming out of it. plus alot of wank value. case already has room for a 240rad 60mm and i could squezee in another 140 rad to. or i could be cazy and do some modding to fit a 480 60mm rad. hummm...

need to get a good picture but i spent alot of time building this case. nice and neat and all of its preaty much sleaved.
will have to get a better picture

i am concidering a 240 rad 60mm and using a dual bay res and maybe a another 140 rad on the right.

wondering if i should add a second GTX 580? i allready max out every game except metro. its the only game i cant get above 60FPS on ultra.

heres what the case looks like.

its all 10+ years old, so i have no idea, i found it in my dads cupboard a few years ago, dunno if he just stopped using it or if it died, but it dosnt work anymore. i believe its an old alienwear case, i know the motherboards a giggabite one, and the graphics card is an ati randeon, its an AMD processor aswell. but other than that i couldnt tell you. (DDR 1= acient)

This things to much of a beast i dont even push it. this is with photoshop running editing some pics, itunes playing music and browsing 10 web pages
performance.png

the only thing i can push it with is stress tests :P
i dont do video encoding or anything. even when im gaming on BF3 it doesent max out. i havent hit the 8GB of ram yet. ive come close with alot of images open in PS
although i was allways planning of putting 16GB in it but i dont think i will need to.

anyone that was a kick ass machine for under 2K follow my spec

PC have come such a long way in the last 5-10 years that, in reality, 5 yo computers are adequate for the majority of people and 1-2 yo computers can do more than most people would ever need.

i think the 1155 socket will be fine for another 5 years for most peoples use. its getting to the point now where its the harddrives slowing down the systems. as we see more ssd's coming with pre built computers people will see a huge speed boost. hell going from my ssd to my back black edition WD 7200rpm drives is torture. the speed difference is insane and the blacks are a very high quality drive!
