Gonis
So I have gotten a bit addicted to gonis. Maybe it's the fact that they are 'hard to keep' and therefore a challenge, or maybe it's the gorgeous colours you can find them in.
Anyway, the flouro pink started it all ... and despite the hype and clamour for red gonis at the moment, I still haven't seen a goni that comes close to this. Not any other coral actually, the pink is so bright it is hard to photograph:
It has never extended its polyps fully since the first week I got it, but seems healthy enough and has minimal die off on the fringes (that it always had).
I have three others - a blue/purple, a lovely flouro green from the Mentone bargain bin (<$10 if I remember correctly), and a small 'sunset/rainbow' which has tiny little polyps (has a bit of damage and looks worse than it really is in this pic).
All seem to do okay with my daily tank dosing of Reef Roids and occasional Brightwell Reef Snow, plus other supplements such as Amino Acids.
