Looks pretty clean for 6400 iso :)
Here's the shot prior to noise reduction in Photomatix. The graininess is especially apparent around the street light. I also did a bit of processing in Picasa.

Tried to stalk some ducks at the creek near my house. They got spooked by the fat bloke crunching through the undergrowth, but I managed to get one as it took off. I wish Iived somewhere near more wildlife...

My daughter dutifully posed for this shot. Just trying out the flash, macro lens and various ideas.

In case you were wondering, the background consists of a crumpled up Coles plastic shopping bag.

If you shoot under blue lights your photos will have a strong cast unless you have a camera that allows you to set a custom white balance OR you could shoot in RAW and correct the white balance after the fact. I personally always shoot in RAW and fix up the shots with a bit of post processing in Picasa, Photomatix or Photoshop.

Do you have a DSLR or a point and shoot?

Adobe Lightroom is great for doing these adjustments, including batch processing of multiple files.

But, looking at some of the photo's around here I think I need a new camera. :cry. I just have a Lumix which has been ideal for the last few years but I don't think the auto focus is working properly anymore.

A few shots from Roma street parklands with my new (second hand) lens: 70-200mm f2.8 L IS.
It's one damn heavy piece of glass...
