Omg
No wonder they call it the "uglies"
Will this ever pass ?
Or will I just own a green tank forever ?

Have you tried Seachem Purigen?

It's excellent at "polishing" the water.

Cheers

Is there a CUC in the tank?
I never got green rocks in my setup with Dry rock, they got the brown stuff.
Then again i never had the bioload you have during the cycle either.
Are the Tangs picking at it?
Once the next phase kicks in i imagine it will clear up.
What are you nutrient readings like?
This is gonna be one sweet looking tank once corals go in.

South lake
Just cover it in corals!
I know you already know this but nothing happens fast in a reef tank, and in a pool like yours???

Because i cant tell from the close up photo, am i right that there appears to be GHA?

Otherwise, it 'could' be green coralline..... or both, just a thought.

Hi
A lot of this rock was from shut down tanks so think it's actually leaching phos
We bleached & power washed and soaked with water changes for about 9 weeks
Still crazy high clearly
Am working on cuc but with the trigger we are very limited
He's eat list to date
Shrimp
Hermits
Turbo snail
So will have to find alternatives or huge ones not eatable ones :(

I don't know to be honest
The tangs aren't overly interested in it which suggests it may not be
Think too much too fast for Coraline
So it's been given a lesley name "bloody ugly "

Have you got your blues turned up? It looks almost neon! haha
Are there some urchins you could try that the trigger won't touch?
Some stomatella snails would be good as they just come out at night.

Ah Triggers, those beautiful rascals. I was very tempted but ultimately disappointment upon hearing their penchant for inverts.
Think it just a case of waiting for the cycle to sort itself out, it does seem like an odd algea as it is very bright

Hows the tank going along @Lesley
Tons better thanks
Lifted the lights about another 15cm and made a huge difference
Our old tank was under lighted I had forgotten how well lit this one was , with all the overlap
The gha has been demolished from the sand by my Hungry mob of tangs who are wondering why mum has stopped feeding everytime she walks past the tank
Loving the LEDs
Fish all healthy & strong
Very short on corals so
1 brain = 3
1 Duncan = 6
1 Monti = 3
Looks better
Coraline taking hold well in the sump but none showing in dt yet :(
Thanks for asking
