Hanna Checker Phosphorus Hi 736
just got a Hanna checker po4. Did the a test on my water and it reads 19 ppb.
What would that convert to in ppm? I'm guessing between 0.05 and 0.06 ?
If any one knows of a chart to convert from ppb to ppm that would be awesome

The calculation you need for the 736 is to multiply the Hanna reading by 3.066 then divide that by 1000
So for you reading - 19 x 3.066 / 1000 = 0.058 so not too high

Please note that this is not just a conversion from PPB to PPM, but also a conversion from measuring Phosphorus to Phosphate - the conversion factor noted by @Wazza22 is correct.

This is a chart which was sourced from here

I printed and laminated the chart that @MagicJ posted. I just put it in with my tester so its easy to convert!

Cheers Fellas.
That helps a lot.
My tank is 90% SPS with a few LPS corals. The montes are doing awesome with new growth encrusting the rocks. All the aros are going well, showing good polyp extension.
The branching growth is good and some of the Acros are growing over the rocks as well.
id like to get more growth over the rock, do you reckon getting the PO4 low will help even more?
I do hear people say that zero PO4 is the way to go.
Cheers.

Some PO4 is better than none - but there are other members who know much more about SPS - @Wrangy @slin1977
I'm with @MagicJ
The ocean doesn't have 0 phosphate and SPS do alright in there afaik.
Possibly what they are talking about is an ULNS (Ultra Low Nutrient System).
Not researched this myself but the SPS gurus can hopefully add more.
