In The Beginning
Because I can no longer work, I operate on strict'ish budgets for this expensive hobby.

My 'display tank is a D shaped 4ft that I bought 2nd hand years ago and it came with a built in rear sump. I soon learned to hate that setup so I did a major DIY overhaul, removing the internal sump, drilling, installing a weir, etc etc.

That was Resurrection #1 and was running beautifully until my home aid, despite being told to go nowhere near it, decided to Mr Sheen the inside of the hood without me knowing. Overnight every organism in the tank was dead and I awoke to a foul smell and a sinister brew in my once pretty tank.

I left that tank fallow for nearly a year (I have other tanks) then came Resurrection #2. This time it was left with no fish or coral for almost 6 months , during which time I populated it with various microfauna, mainly from Oceanarium, my preferred online supplier. Got that going reasonably well although there are always issues when running high nutrient tanks.

Then came yesterday.......
