Impressive :) Did you use a track of any sort to move the camera?
The camera stays in one place, I think the stacking works better if the item being shot has a large depth so you focus at the front and slowly work your way back in small increments. I then used a program called Helicon Focus.

I've had my eye on a macro lens for my Canon for a little bit now, and these pics are making me very keen. Awesome shots.

Thanks @Cosby, a macro lens is well worth it. My son spends hours in the front yard looking for spiders, bugs and lizards to photograph as well as the tank.
