6 ldd 1000h will run all my CW and Sw (each ldd will run 12 leds - total 72)
6 ldd 700h will run uv,rd and green ( each ldd will run 6 leds - total 36 )
according to the chart
Volts 52
Amps 16.2
Watts 634

Hi @longlenium

We are just down in Melton so only about 20 minutes from St.Albans.
The LDD's & PCB's you need we have on hand now.
You are using 16 less LEDs then what we are so you are looking for a very big power supply.
If you want to run the whole lot off one power supply it will not be cheap. Let me have a look at what options I can come up with for you to think about.
If you would like the LDD's & boards sooner just let us know.

:)

Hey @longlenium,

Had a play on that magic LDD calc & tried a couple of different combo's.
Your running a lot of led's on that light so I think you might be better off going with 3 pwr supplies.
I'm thinking....
2x Mean-well SP-320-48, (1x 6 LDD-1000)
1x Mean-well SP-240-48, (1x 6 LDD-700)
Cost delivered to your door- $270.00

You maybe able to find cheaper pwr supplies on Ebay, but these are covered by Aust warranty.

@MagicJ, could just double check me on the pwr supplies mate?

Will there be any issues having different number of LED's in each string off a single Power Supply? (assuming all LEDs are 3W)

e.g. will it be possible to have 4 strings with 12 LEDs and then 2 strings with 6 and 4 or is the LDD not able to handle this?

String1: 1000mA 12 LED
String2: 1000mA 12 LED
String3: 700mA 12 LED
String4: 500mA 12 LED
String5: 500mA 6 LED
String6: 350mA 4 LED

All running off a 5A 48V (240W) power supply.

Doesn't the voltage need to be the same if the circuits are in parallel? I'm sure they taught me that in my electrical subjects... :reading

The LDD's are smart little black boxes - they will only use the voltage required by the connected LED's.

As an experiment I connect 1 LED to a 48v power supply and the LDD did not get much warmer than ambient.

You will have no problems running the strings you mentioned above :)

Might be a stupid question but I'll ask anyway :)

Could I drive a fan off one of these? Say for instance I ran a 12v 500mA fan at the end of one LDD500?

I suspect not - these drivers provide a current source (which is required by the LED's) whereas the fans require a voltage source.

It looks like I will be doing another order from China :)

I didn't even know that you could get these

Just need to work out what size we need.
Did you ever get any of these or find out what gauge? I thought I would "fix" my wiring and now half of it is not working again and I don't have enough time to fix. Worked perfect for a year til I "fixed it"!

So who has some LDD's they'd like to offload? "Fixed" the wiring for my LED's this week and have spent most of the week trying to get it working properly again. :(
