The PM dies after 3 weeks.
Lost a ballast today.
This IMO means ATI have not resolved their issues.

Gone and replaced the ballast.
New ballast working just fine.

But.... Just figured out that it might not be a ballast issue . Could be a faulty T5 tube.

Now to put the original ballast back.

Talk about jumping to worst case scenario quickly, lol!!!!!

Lucky I have a spare Actinic.
Never seen a tube suddenly die like that.

Was nice to spend three and a half hours practicing surgery.
Time to stick her back on the tank and walk away.

We all do that when we hear there are all these issues and we jump to that conclusion and standard troubleshooting goes out the window lol

I can say that I am not used to a DOA tube , I thought they faded away from months/ years of use.

Usually you should be able to have it replaced...except of course if purchased from guppys

Shipping T5 tubes in Aus would be a nightmare especially the way the wankers treat our stuff in transit.

Btw remind me @leodb89 does your new fixture contain T5???

Here's the pisser to that whole story. I ordered a few tubes from China to test and they arrived in perfect order. Those Geiseman tubes shipped from 100km north of me and I had 2 dead out of 6. Our postal and delivery services aren't much different than yours.

Yap I've traveled around the world with no issues to have my stuff smashed and broken here on arrival. Been disappointed many times in local post too!!!

Those units I got from Coralvue are damn nice for the money. I like the power and sunlight like shimmer I get from the LEDs, but I feel they need T5 to make it a complete package.

what about purple plus?

Got two purple plus and they are mint .
Got two coral plus mint too.
With 4 blue these work awesome together.

Since I got the spare actinic running in place of a blue it looks strange.

Purple on its own looks fantastic and you would not call it purple but a white purple.But mixing actinic with purple makes purple stand out like a pink.
