I noticed my Banggai's starting their spawning dance late this afternoon. So, I thought I would get out some of their frozen food so that the male could have a good feed before his enforced fast. I left it to thaw out for about 10 minutes - but I was too late - the male was already holding eggs when I came back

I'm not sure if the new diet has helped or not - the spawns so far have been right on 2 months apart - the next one will probably answer the question.

The female is very protective of him tonight - this normally only lasts a few days then he is on his own :rolleyes

Unfortunately, the male was eating last night :(

I had fed them a few hours earlier and everything was fine so I am not sure what happened during the intervening hours. He was at 13 days since spawn - I might need to strip him at around 12 days next time.

Awww :( well that sucks! How does one go about stripping eggs from the male banggai???
