thanks alot mate. Dont really get a chance to get near the city these days. Main reason for asking here so I can go to HN etc and know the exact one I want, rather than them sell it to me

thanks alot mate.

At the moment I am still looking at the 100D. $320 with 18-55mm lense or $542 with 18-55mm and a macro lense.

I just want something that I can use to see if taking decent photos is something I get interested in, if so I will happily upgrade to a better camera etc, but not even close to that bridge yet

What I was trying to say is that for 560 you get a lot more value then the 1000D in the price of 400$ you don't really have any other option other then the 1000D or a nikon 3100D not sure what price the 3200D, I will have to check

I know mate, I get what you were trying to do and understand it, but regardless of value it is out of the range I am willing to spend so value doesn't really matter.

Its the 1100D mate, not 1000 I am looking at.

The Nikon 3100D is around $490 no lenses the 3200D is $800 no lenses

The 1000d and 1100d are virtually the same camera from memory they just added video to 1100d , the nikon 3100 is a good camera for the price I had a d3000 back in the early days

the link just goes to the home page? The only one on that site in my range is the Nikon D3100, assuming that is it?

Is that a better buy than the cannon with lense do you think?

so you would say the Nikon is better than the Cannon as an entry level?
I think the nikons kit lens is better, I like cannon tho feels better for me to use, your best bet is to go into a camera shop and play with a nikon d3100 and a Canon 1100D then buy online the 1100d online should be about 420-450 to with a lens.

the 1100d is at harvey norman with lenses for $328, cheaper than any I have found online
Really? That's a bargain must be selling them off to make way for the new models (the 1100 has been superceded) I'd get that! I bought my new 6D from Harvey on the weekend they had good specials on

Can't beat 90mm tamron macro 2.8 it's a cheap and nasty lens but it does what it needs to what is take a sharp macro!
