Vanuatu Trip Lots Of Pics
Just thought I would put a few Pics up of some snorkeling we did at Hideaway Island Vanuatu. It's A nice place to go with the kids as it has easy access to the water for the snorkeling. Unfortunately the coral is in not to good of health although there are a few nice surprises but it still worth the trip if you go as it is only 10 min drive out of Port Villa.

A lot of nice healthy fish but most of the coral areas are just skeletal. When we first went there about 9 years ago it was just after a cyclone had come through and killed most of the coral.

Have not been to great barrier reef so I cant make a comparison to any were. Hope you enjoy

When it was just me and my wife we stayed at the Le Lagon twice and then the trip above with the kids we stayed at the Holiday In. Were abouts did you stay Magic ? We would love to go and see the Volcano on Tanna Island next time.

Did you go to turtle Island? Best part of my trip when I went there 6 years ago. What sort of camera did you use for the underwater shots?

We went to turtle bay for lunch on our way back from the Blue Lagoon and Eton beach but not to turtle island. All of the pics including under water were taken with our Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT5.
Great Camera as took good pictures and very versatile. Also don't have to worry about the kids dropping it :p

Below Pic is Blue lagoon Mixture of fresh and salt water also had some nice fish

Not much for snorkeling as it is to far from the Lagoon entrance only star fish and some small schooling fish. I did find some schools of fish that float upside down to look like seaweed (cant think of there name)

It was just my wife and I and we stayed at Iririki Island on both occasions - the last was in 2003. From what I can see, the island has changed a lot since we were last there with more accommodation/pools etc all over the place - I don't think I would stay there know.

Ye it has come a long way. we were there a couple of years after you the first time and a lot more tourists now and infrastructure. We want to go back even though we had our credit card skimmed ( That can happen anywhere) There is still a whole we want to see and it is very cheap to go there.

How did your kids like it? We now have a 6 and 8 year old (and that's why we haven't been back since 2003 ;) ) who are hoping to go on a holiday soon :)

Kids had an absolute ball they are only 3 and 4 though :D . There was a lot of kids around that age there. Its cheap to go to cost us $5000 for the 4 of us inc flights, accom, breakfast, transfers and some tours. We have to go to cairns for a birthday and that is going to cost over $2000 for 3 days and that's just accommodation and a car no food ect

Went last year-stayed at Nasama Resort-went to Hideway twice. My daughter also did some diving with Nautilus. Loved Vanuatu agree with you @megsez definitely going to go back. I also can't get over how cheap it was in comparison to going on holiday here in Oz
