What A Bummer
found a stone or gorilla crab, fairly large, like 50c piece last night, i think thats whats taken a nip at my leather coral edges?

have a small smattering of spindle weed algae, hope its just because the tank is new, and i read it is a sign of good quality water.. still not the best looking thing if it goes crazy and over grows.

anyone have any good tricks for removing both?

Freshwater dip method for the crab: watch to see which rock he goes into, then remove the rock and place it in a bucket of fresh water until he comes out - shouldn't take more than a few seconds to a minute. Remove the rock and then dispose of the crab in whichever way you have decided.

Make sure you rescue any critters that have also come out of the rock that you want to keep and put them back in the tank.

For the Spindle Weed, I would consider this a desirable algae to have and would keep it.
