4th Birthday Update
4th Birthday Update
Hi All , My last update was back in November last year so I thought I would do an update.
Plus the Tank will tick over to 4 years old this month.
What has changed......
In April I added a Deltec calcium reactor. The consumption of Randy's recipe was a PIA, it was at about 225mls a day of both ALK & calcium.
Also thanks to @OSCAR85 and @Wrangy and their peer group pressure I also started started Zeovit around the same time....lol thanks guys
July- I had to do a rescape due to a plating Acro starting to shade other corals ( I fricken broke it in the process).
I also overdosed the Zeovit at a stone change and lost 2 Acro’s.
The other thing that has changed is WC or the lack of them. I have done 2 x 10% WC since Feb I started not doing them due to the Lack of P04 & Nitrate in my tank.
however once a week I test the following parameters.
Salinity 1.025
PH 8.0 ( 6.5 in the reactor)
Alk 140/7.8 (tested every second day)
Cal 420
MAg 1400
potassium 410
Nitrate 0
P04 0.00 (Hanna)
Iron 0.000003
Iodine 0.03
Now I know some of you may be questioning my decision due to the lack of accuracy in some test kits but
my Corals are looking really good and they are growing like mad.
So I guess the DSR method stays until I can detect P04
I have also become slowly embarrassed by how little room my corals have.
I have plans to upgrade Tank size however I have to renovate our house first.
