A Tale Of Two Polyps
I've been watching my Sympodium spp. polyps grow with interest. They arrived as tiny growths on the original LR I bought when i set my nano up. I had thought they were probably Green Star Polyps but i hoped they might be the lovely blue ones i'v seen online.
Along with the zoas sent to me by
@Fragalicious, i also received GSP - an especially bright green type.

Yet my original sympodium, which have grown alot, have not developed the expected green. They appear to be a pale shade of blue.

I hope so!!!

I'v also observed with interest that one of the Solar zoas has begun to develop blue spots similar to the Galaxy zoas behind it. None of the other Solars have done this (so far)

I received two colonies of Solar zoas. One colony was Solars only with some GSP:

The other is Solars with two Blue Orgasm polyps:

I was interested to note that one of the Solars beside the Blue Orgasm, had developed spots, in the manner of the Galaxy zoas :

But i have now noted that another of the Solars has developed spots and i can just see faint spots starting on the others.

Yet the Solar colony by itself has remained spot free. I am wondering if the spotted solars have acquired zooanthelle from the Blue Orgasms?

Will be interested in seeing how these end up going! Corals can be curious things - changing their colours etc depending on lighting and water conditions - and zoas perticularly so! Ours vary dramatically between tanks, and it's always interesting watching them make changes over days/weeks as we shift them all around!

I have heard of white spots sometimes being indicative of problems, but blue sounds like a bonus :)

Good luck!
