[The Reefuge]

Hello everyone,

Due to the high costs of maintaining and developing The Reefuge, we are going to introduce two types of account upgrades to users. This is an effort to allow users to support The Reefuge by buying account upgrades. Gold will still be able to be Gifted to good content posts.

Please note, Medals are not part of the upgrade, but they can still be purchased via the account upgrades page.

Level 1 Upgrade - 50 Gold Points per Month

Bypass flood check
Moods
Animated avatar (not yet available)
Ability to add multiple users to personal conversations
Ability to have an automatic reply to new personal conversations
'Premium Member' user banner displayed under Avatar (not yet available)
Larger character limit for signature (not yet available)
Coloured Username




Level 2 Upgrade - 100 Gold Points per Month

Edit user title
Change username
1 week post edit time frame
1 week thread title edit time frame
Images allowed in signature (not yet available)
Bypass flood check
Moods
Animated avatar (not yet available)
Ability to add multiple users to personal conversations
Ability to have an automatic reply to new personal conversations

Do you need to purchase upgrade 1 before upgrade2 or can you go straight to upgrade 2?
Can you add a yearly fee also? PITA to do monthly for some lol.

You can jump to upgrade #2 if you wish to do so. But remember, it is preferred that users purchase with the Gold in their account.

There's no way I can afford a monthly amount given my circumstances but please clarify. If I was to buy a L2 upgrade for one month, then change my username during that time, does the name change remain permanent?

Yes, the name change remains permanent.

However, please remember all users have the ability to change their username once (for free) before the feature is deactivated. Look in your control panel and see if you can change your username. If you can this will cost you nothing.

This is because The Reefuge is a free community and some users may not wish to purchase upgrades to use the site. In addition, users can purchase upgrades using Gold, and they can earn Gold by posting good content on the site.
