How would that side have got wet?

I use a Flipper, but always leave the inside part on a towel after use so that it dries out :)

I have wondered about those types of cleaners before. Not so much the rust factor... but just the use of wood! I honestly don't think wood is a good material to have near a marine aquarium. I find myself wishing I had sealed my skirting boards in some kind of marine grade something before filling the system and being stuck with very little access behind it. There are so many things I would change if I did it all again.

You could always try sanding the metal bit back or treating it with a rust killer or something if you didn't want to replace it.

I guess I wasn't careful enough when using it with a rimless tank. It's disappointing because these are the best magnet cleaners that I have used that work well on 12mm glass.

I don't think it's capable of being saved, the corrosion runs very deep.

I'll keep the wet side as it is perfect.
