Don't be shy, use as directed and ignore the milkyness you get in the first few mins :)

FYI it's not a coral food like other brands "coral snow"

turn off ATS, Return Pump, hydroPure, Skimmer?
then turn skimmer and return pump on?

haha it's completely safe for the tank :) I leave everything on while dosing it but in your case I'd flick the ATS off till the snow clears a little not because of damage but just to make sure it doesn't dry out on the scrubber :)

It won't drop phos as it works more like a carbon than anything else but your water will be gloriously crystal clear :)

You could be right! I was wondering how I got the tell tale lanth scum ring at the surface of my brand new tank.
Very interesting....
