I initially agreed with this... but now I vehemently disagree. If you can't get this thing to skim after a reasonable break-in, you're doing something very wrong. Not the product's fault.

look at the bubbles that thing produces. i could make better bubbles blowing through a straw.
this skimmer is in no form effective at what it does. airstone driven skimmers produce a better head of bubbles then that

Yeah... but it still skims. I know this because I've been watching mine skim for the last 3 days :) if you want something to do the job well, don't buy bottom-shelf - end of discussion. If you want something to do the job at all, then it's sufficient for its intended purpose.
