Ok so the red sea max 250 has a 6x39w t5 light. The current globes are white and blue and God knows how old.
If just sold my motorcycle leathers and stuff so want to buy new globes.

What would be the best selection to give corals growth. Colour but not a washed out blue look.

The photo is a recommendation I found online but I trust you more.

I would go with the recommendation. I used to run same combo's when i ran T5

Their recommendation looks pretty good, I personally prefer the look of the aqua blue specials in place of the coral plus's, a little bit less yellow and more of a crisper white.

Something to consider also, how many channels does your light allow, 2? Work out which ones you will put on each channel. :)

Um its just an all on light. There is 8 blue leds for a night function but they are basically useless so i was going to buy just some 3w or 1w leds to replace them with.

This is the light timer.
1 switch is 2x fans in rear of hood
1 switch is for 8x crap leds which ill upgrade.

The timer is for the 6x 39w t5 globes

Have you thought of running some of the arcadia or euroquatics led retrofit tubes in some of the spots to save some money over the long term?

Na haven't even looked into that stuff as I thought the led kits would be very very expensive

Most LFS deal with both of the above wholesalers, but you will probably find it cheaper to get from an international ebay seller

6 of them globes are $480 plus postage. Probably better try and buy a maxspec r420 light or 2 so prime lights and fit into hood.

6 ATI's are $220+ postage and you need to change them out every 12 months.

If it were me id run 3 blues retrofits in place of the blue pluses just to get some extra pop, cool the light fixture down, lower the power consumption and make it so the annual cost was only $110.

I think t5/led combo is much better than each stand alone.

I'm going to bunarong tomorrow to buy refractometor and some bits and no. I'll price the globes when I'm there. I honestly thought a t5 39w globes was like $25 each but I ant bought globes in over 4 years.

Ok so you weren't wrong with T5 cost. I think I'll slowly buy them led/T5 replacment even if i buy them over the course of a year or so. Id get the blues to start with.

IMO , the ATI are the best however you wont get 12 months out of them , I get 10 max.
I have giesemann MH globes and love them but i dislike the giesemann T5's ...just my 2 cents......

That's fair. I'm going to slowly transition over to the led tubes unless I can find a killer deal on like a maxspec razor light that I can mod into the original hood.
