Haha I know this all to well, been a year since I sunk money into an ej207 shortblock swap into my gc8 and there's countless other mods Ive done or wanna do!

Early smart ato's had a rust issue. If you return it to the supplier all distributor, it is usually replaced regardless og age as it was a design fault.
