Thanks mate,.
Slowly getting there. Had to re-arrange things yesterday and removed a few boring corals to make a bit of room. Tried to take another photo but the lights have dimmed too much and my stupid camera makes everything blue lol

Yeah it's interesting, haven't seen it before and I'll have to check it out! I also like the colour because it's actually the colour "coral" haha.

Yeh, i've seen a couple of greeny ones come up occasionally. I'm mildly colour-blind so I'm never 100% sure what colour some things are lol

Nice looking tank! Love the torches.

That fungia would be happier on the substrate though?
Thanks mate,
Yeh the fungia was placed there by mistake when I first started lol just haven't got around to moving it yet. Seems happy enough there atm but I think it looks odd there so it will be moved soon.

Phosphate was a bit higher then what I'd like, waterchanges were slowly making a dent in it but coupled with my heavy feedings it wasn't happening fast enough so I decided to give lanth. a go.
I rigged up a small cup (old safilert testing cup) into a heater holder and filled it with the lanth.

All I can say is... Awesome. Phosphate went from 0.5 to 0.03 over a month. Could have been faster but I didn't stir or renew it as much as I could have. Wanted to drop it slowly to minimize stressing things.

Wait, you have the cup of lanth hanging in the tank? And it just releases slowly as water flows over?

Nah the lanth. Glycolate hex... Is a solid supended in a liquid.
I pour an amount into the cup, wait until the solid settles and remove the liquid from the top until I'm left with a white gel at the bottom of the cup. Then I add ro water and mix it up again. When it settles I drain the liquid again and add fresh saltwater.
I wait until it settles again and gently lower it into the tank without disturbing it.
As the water passes over it the Po4 binds with the lanth and forms a crust. Every few days I gently stir the crust into the lanth so new lanth is brought to the top and I keep repeating until all the lanth is crusty then I remove and replace it with fresh stuff.
If done well then no lanth is floating around the tank.

I've had a bit of a cyno problem after getting slack with the water changes and overfeeding. It's finally starting to decrease now though.Heres some updated photos:
