The camera stays in one place, I think the stacking works better if the item being shot has a large depth so you focus at the front and slowly work your way back in small increments. I then used a program called Helicon Focus.Impressive :) Did you use a track of any sort to move the camera?
Thanks @Cosby, a macro lens is well worth it. My son spends hours in the front yard looking for spiders, bugs and lizards to photograph as well as the tank.I've had my eye on a macro lens for my Canon for a little bit now, and these pics are making me very keen. Awesome shots.
