In my case the white/aluminium finish blends better with the wall behind and as such they do not stand out as much as a black light against the wall. As my light frame and accents of my stand are aluminum they blend in to the overall stand/frame really well.
I hate the lcd interface, however it works. I think my units have a hw glitch where its difficult to see the display in full light onditions. The backlight function does not seem to change intensity of the lcd, all that happens is the buttons change intensity. I see the previous owner posted a few threads about the issue however un resolved. Its not really a drama as you can read it and has probably equiv to a 30% backlight settings. For me the lcd is just to set max brightness on the slave light so i do t have plug in the laptop
