Time for a little update.

My system has suffered from a Cyano outbreak for the past 5 weeks. Daily dosing of Coral Snow, Zeozym, Zeobak and Biomate have pretty much rid the tank of it.

Dosing these along with Zeostart has kept my Nutrients very, very low and lost a couple of frags due to starvation. I also have a few corals washed out on me due to this too.

But things in the past week have improved so i thought it was time to add in more corals.

I have pretty much got most of the corals i want in my tank now. About 80% of the SPS in my system are from frags. I got most of my corals thus far from Dave at Extreme Reef, Reeflections and Reef Secrets. IMO, these guys continually get the best stock in OZ.

Even after adding heaps of corals, It looks very bare! I am though leaving room for the colonies to grow out in. I dont want 50 different acro colonies all jammed up like a fruit stand but rather 20 or so larger ones.

Fish I have added over the past month include my Achilies Tang, Power Blue Tang, 2 x Bartletts Anthias (Want more but nobody can get them for me :( ), Mystery Wrasse, Melanarus Wrasse and a big MF Lawnmower Blenny named 'Benny' :D

I have in QT due to come out next weekend, 3 x Yellow tangs and a Pair of Snowflake Clowns.
Only thing i want to add is 6 more bartlets and possibly a Crosshatch Trigger.

Anyway not much to look at for the moment, but here are a few shots i took last night under Royal Blue, Blue and UV LED lights running at 30% Brightness.

I love it too, sensational!

I'm waiting on some Bartletts too, Dave is keeping his eye out for me, maybe he can look out for you too.

Cheers,
Jamie.

How long did it take for the rocks to turn colour from the white base rock ?

Can't remember you talking about the Mitras yet. What do you think ? performance and software features.

Oh and it goes without saying... DT is looking great :)

Hey Rob,

The tank has been running for just over 2 months now. There's alot of coraline spots all over the rocks. Im guessing another 2 months and they will be solid purple.

The Mitras are a fantastic Led unit. Love the programming, harder to navigate than the radions i used to run but alot more custom options. You can really get in depth with the programming.

I have customised the color mix to my liking and the corals seem to be responding well to them. They are very red straight out of the box, like running a fiji pink t5. So had to reduce the reds to approx 10%.
Makes me wonder why they included so many red leds, but i suppose people like that pinky/purple look.

They are damn bright too, keeping my clams happy on the sand be at 28inch depth.

I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to run Led's, imo the best i have personally seen out there ;)

Have to add that the mitras are keeping my reds and pinks very well, especially my birdnest that seems to be going more vibrant pink :)

+1 for the mitras loved the increase in color on my corals and the growth is unbelievable, only changes I did was change the output from high efficiency to high output but other than that I keep it in default, there's probably not enough blue for my liking but still amazing

Yeah first thing i done too was put them onto high output mode. Turn down the reds, there is plenty of blue there and they will still be bright.
Like i mentioned above i only run both the reds at 10% brightness for most of the day.

looks like Ich got to them. I dont think its marine velvet otherwise everything else will be dead too and i cant see any yellow dust on them.

the 3 yellow tangs look 50/50, clowns ok and my latest anthias i added 3 days ago, they look the best.

Im not too sure why though, i quarantined everything in copper and had the achilies living in a tiny tank for 3 months without any issues.

they were all fine and ich free up until 3 weeks ago and just went downhill from there.

Maybe the tank wasnt mature enough or the very low nutrients of zeovit were stressing them severely. I will be waiting a few months before i add anymore fish.
